Derwin Kitchen's contract to play with Cantù falling apart?

Chebolletta Cantù reached an agreement with Derwin Kitchen for a contract for the season. But Panathinaikos, after the news came out, denied a departure of the American guard.

The target of PAO was to avoid paying to Kitchen the payout, considering that the player has contract for one more season with them.

Cantù, with Kitchen blocked in Athens, had the chance to raise the salary to the player but they decided not to increase their offer.

Kitchen, on his side, had the possibility to give up on Panathinaikos' money but former Maccabi Rishon LeZion decided not to renounce to his money.

So, the deal between the two parts is stalling and the negotiation might fall apart with Cantù obliged to hit the market again looking for another guard to replace the injured Jerry Smith.
