Cantù interested in Derwin Kitchen, Isaiah Swann

Prosegue la ricerca di una combo guard per Cantù

Serie A

After the injury suffered by Jerry Smith, Cantù started seeking the market looking for a player to add to the roster as backup of Jerry Smith.
Cantù eyed several players but they have never tried to really sign one of them. In the last hours Cantù reportedly changed its mind and opted to sign a player for the season, not just as temporarily replacement of Jerry Smith who will be out several months with a broken foot.

Two are the news names targeted by the Italian team: Derwin Kitchen and Isaiah Swann.

Kitchen was signed by Panathinaikos last summer who beat the competition of Mens Sana. PAO paid also a buyout to Maccabi Rishon LeZion to have the American guard. But Kitchen, since his arrival in Athens, is not impressing with his performances. He averages 4.6ppg and 3.5rpg in 6 games played in Euroleague while in Greek A1 he scores 4.7ppg with 2rpg and 2.7apg in 6 games. He was on the block a weeks ago and he might leave the team.

Swann is playing in Turkey with Gaziantep BSB with whom he is averaging 13ppg, 5.3rpg and 3.7apg. Swann had a great season in 2011-12 with Ratiopharm Ulm in Germany where he has scored 15.8ppg with 2.7rpg and 2.8apg. Swann has a short, unlucky stint in Italy with Imola.

On Cantù's agenda there is also a third name. A guard from D-League with European experience whose name is 'secret'.
