Virtus Roma close to Clay Tucker and to part ways with Ali Traore

Virtus Roma is very close to landing Clay Tucker. The first proposal of the Italian team for the American was too low but yesterday Virtus made a new offer to the player who accepted it. Clay Tucker spent the last two seasons in Spanish ACB with DKV Joventut Badalona and Real Madrid. With Penya, Tucker had a terrific season averaging 16.2ppg. Last summer he got the call from Real Madrid but with Merengues he did not perform as expected finishing the year with 8,7ppg in Euroleague and 8.5ppg in ACB. Tucker has already played in Italy few seasons ago with Teramo.

Virtus Roma is also close to reaching an agreement with Ali Traore to break the contract. The French center got rid by the new head coach of the team Lino Lardo after his first season in Italy. When Traore will be free agent, he will sign in Russia with Lokomotiv Kuban, as reported to sources close to the situation.

The new name for the PF spot in the roster is Uros Slokar. The Slovenian forward has a long experience in Italy with Udine, Treviso, Fortitudo Bologna and Siena with whom he won the Serie A. Last season Slokar, who has played also in NBA with Toronto Raptors, wore the jersey of Manresa averaging 11ppg and 6rpg in ACB. Slokar would be the backup of Vladimir Dasic in the roster of Roma. The alternative is Mindaugas Katelynas. Air Lithuania is free agent after his season with Cajasol Sevilla.
