Metta World Peace has been introduced as new player of Pallacanestro Cantù.

“Ciao. I want to thank Cantù and the owner Cremascoli. I always wanted to play in Europe.
Last September I decided to accept the offer from China even if I could have played in the NBA.

When my Chinese season ended I have been back home for a couple of months. I talked with my agent and we discussed the possibility to sign in Europe. He told me about Italy which is one of the top leagues in the world. Cantù wanted to sign me and I decided to pen a deal with them.

I am 35, I still want to play basketball. I am ready to play, maybe I need a couple of days of practice but I am in shape. I am here to beat the best team.

I came here to understand if I can play also next season in Italy.
