More fans than ever before in Beko BBL
For the 11th straight season, the Beko BBL experienced an increase in total attendance
For the 11th straight season, the Beko BBL experienced an increase in total attendance with 1,481,324 fans coming out for the 334 games during the 2012-13 season – an average of 4,435 per game. The average last season was 4,422 fans per game – 1,463,082 in total for an increase of 0.3 percent. And the Beko BBL clubs had 86.1 percent capacity. The top draw once again was ALBA BERLIN with an average of 10,147 followed by Brose Baskets Bamberg 6,800 and Bayern Munich at 6,128. The lowest average attendance was MBC at 2,445.
And the fans were watching even more Germans in action. The league surpassed its goal of 30 percent German playing time in the first season with the 6+6 foreigners regulation. Germans’ playing time jumped 23.04 percent from 25.21 percent last season to 31.02 percent in 2012-13. The top five teams were LTi GIESSEN 46ers (42.52 %), ratiopharm ulm (37.27 %), New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig (35.30 %), Bayern Munich (34.40 %), BBC Bayreuth (31.79 %)
