CSKA, Olympiacos, Unicaja finalists for Devotion Marketing Awards

Euroleague Basketball is pleased to announce that CSKA Moscow, Olympiacos Piraeus and Unicaja Malaga are the three finalists for the 2012 Devotion Marketing Awards. Each of the teams is deserving in its own right for the hard work and successful projects undertaken over the past year. The order of the winners will be announced on Thursday before the start of the European Basketball Marketing Summit.

 This year the process for nominating clubs and selecting winners of the Devotion Marketing Awards underwent changes. Six teams were initially chosen as nominees by Euroleague Basketball, though the participating teams still had the option to vote for any team except their own. The final results were voted on by Euroleague Basketball and its member clubs.

CSKA MOSCOW – for its efforts to produce content and its results with social media. CSKA is present on almost every platform or network and shares a lot of content with its fan base and members of the media. The club also promotes its brand and Euroleague Basketball actively through its players.

OLYMPIACOS PIRAEUS – had to start from scratch with a brand new team composed mostly of younger players and had to convince its fan base that a successful season was possible with a new team philosophy: “All for one, one for all, all for Olympiacos.” The campaign was a huge success. Olympiacos also made good efforts to improve the fan experience at Peace and Friendship Stadium and is taking part actively in the ONE TEAM program, with a special elementary school for deaf and hard-of-hearing children.

UNICAJA MALAGA – has reached impressive results in reaching its fans through social media and its website. Unicaja conveys a positive image of itself and of the league. Unicaja’s arena is one of the best arenas in Europe, where fans can always enjoy an excellent atmosphere. Unicaja’s players are very active in the community through their “El Deporte es Vida” CSR activities and the club is a founding member of the ONE TEAM program. Unicaja also offers a good hospitality program and is very effective in regard to merchandising and sales channels: shops, arena and online.
