Playoffs, Game 2 MVP: Erazem Lorbek, CSKA Moscow

For its second playoff home win in as many games, CSKA Moscow relied not on one of its several signature superstars on Thursday, but rather on a newcomer to its lineup this season. Big man Erazem Lorbek earned the MVP honor for Quarterfinal Playoffs, Game 2 after leading CSKA to a 77-50 blowout over Partizan with a performance index rating of 33, his career-high in six Euroleague seasons. Lorbek became CSKA's first weekly MVP this season by scoring 21 points to go with 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 10 fouls drawn and a steal. He connected on 5 of his 7 two-point shots, 1 of 2 three-pointers and 8 of 12 free throws. What's more, he did not commit a single turnover in his nearly 30 minutes on the floor. By playing such a key role in Thursday's victory, Lorbek helped to bring CSKA within one win of its seventh straight Final Four. Lorbek, meanwhile, has not been to the Final Four since his Euroleague rookie season in 2004, with Fortitudo Bologna. Next on the list of the week's best performers were three players tied with index ratings of 27 each after pacing their teams to Game 2 victories on Thursday. All-Euroleague playmaker Terrell McIntyre produced 24 points and 4 assists to lead Montepaschi Siena to a tough road win at Panathinaikos. Big man Fran Vazquez amassed 14 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks as Regal FC Barcelona defeated Tau Ceramica. And Lynn Greer paced Olympiacos with 21 points in its important home win over Real Madrid. Rounding out the top five was Montepaschi's Rimas Kaukenas with 22 points, 3 assists and 4 steals as part of his 26 index rating.

Individual highs: Terrell McIntyre, Montepaschi, 24 points

McIntyre's scoring effort in Montepaschi's big road win was the highest of all players in Game 2. McIntyre's 24 points put his playoff average at 25.5 points per game – over 5 points more than any other player. Vazquez was joined by teammate Ersan Ilyasova and Panathinaikos forward Antonis Fotsis as Game 2's best rebounders with 10 each. Ilyasova now leads the playoffs in that category with 11.5 per game. Vazquez and Ilyasova (16 points, 10 boards) also produced Game 2's only double doubles. Their teammate, Juan Carlos Navarro, dished 6 assists in Barcelona's win over Tau, more than any other player on Thursday. Theo Papaloukas of Olympiacos leads the playoffs in assists so far with 8.5 per game. Kaukenas's 4 steals were the most of any player in Game 2. He is among six players to have appeared in both playoff games who have a total of 4 steals in the two games. His Montepaschi teammate Ksistof Lavrinovic has 3 steals in his only playoff game. Fotsis and Daniel Santiago of Barcelona each swatted 3 shots in Game 2. Fotsis leads the playoffs with 2.5 blocks per game.
