Baskonia coach Alonso unsatisfied by Andrea Bargnani's continuous injuries suffered this season
Alonso: "We are playing without Andrea Bargnani not only since three weeks but since the season started"
Baskonia head coach Sito Alonso will play in ACB and EuroLeague without Andrea Bargnani. Il Mago has missed 12 of the 28 official games played by the Basque team.
“He traveled to Athens but he had a bad luck and got gastroenteritis and his physical condition was not the ideal to play against Panathinaikos” Alonso told El Correo (via Gigantes). “We are playing without Andrea Bargnani not only since three weeks but since the season started. He has helped us in some games in which he showed his talent and skills but the team that is competing and winning in EuroLeague giving a good impressions is a team that is playing without Bargnani” the coach of Baskonia added. “Bargnani is a player who had physical problems also in other teams and we have bet on him to be one of our stars. But we have to be realistic, so far he has not been a star. And he has to prove it” Alonso said. “Let’s see if he can join us as soon as possible and help up. I don’t think he came to Vitoria just to be in the city. He bet as well and wanted to make a good season with us. But if he is not able to do that, his future will be not easy. He has the same or greater desire than us to play” Alonso ended.
