Euroleague Basketball, IMG and Greek broadcaster Novasports have concluded a new deal that will keep the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on Novasports channels through 2020. There was still one more season on the current agreement, but both sides decided to renegotiate and add another three seasons, assuring that fans in Greece will get their fill of great basketball right up to the end of the decade!

Novasports channels have been broadcasting EuroLeague games for well over a decade. And thanks to the tremendous fan bases, the great on-court success of both Olympiacos Piraeus and Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens, and the presentation offered by Novasports and its experienced team of journalists, EuroLeague games have drawn great ratings for Novasports.

"When you think of our Greek clubs and their countless fans, you think of passion, and Novasports brings the same spirit to its broadcasts and coverage of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague," Jordi Bertomeu, Euroleague Basketball President and CEO, said. "Novasports is another partner who has seen the value of the EuroLeague looking forward and has made a commitment to be part of that future. We will work together to do the best job for the fans."

The new, long-term agreement provides exclusive rights to Novasports, thus guaranteeing even greater excitement to Novasports subscribers and EuroLeague fans.

"This is a fantastic deal that takes Νova's partnership with EuroLeague to the next level. Since 2005, we have demonstrated unrivaled commitment to EuroLeague, which has become one of the top international sports events and definitively one of the most popular sports events in Greece," Katerina Kaskanioti, Platform and Content Executive Director at Nova, said. "Throughout the years we have offered fans some of the best basketball moments and now we look forward to continue working with EuroLeague to evolve, develop and enhance coverage of the 'new' championship in the next years."

This season the EuroLeague starts a new and exciting era in which all the top clubs on the continent will all face another at least twice, which marks a first in European club basketball history. And thanks to the upgrades to EuroLeague broadcasts from IMG Productions, in close cooperation with Novasports, there will be even more games at higher broadcasting quality for Greek basketball fans to enjoy. The agreement also gives Novasports channels the rights to broadcast the weekly EuroLeague highlights show.

Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games were covered with more than 25,000 hours of broadcasting time around the world last season and generated an accumulated audience of 2.4 billion, of which 750 million was digital viewership. All of those figures are expected to rise this season with an increase to 30 regular season games before the playoffs and Final Four.
