He talked about different topics

EuroLeague

Here are some of the highlights from Jordi Bertomeu's press conference in Tel-Aviv. He spoke about the current state and the future of Euroleague basketball.

On the collaboration with the NBA: "We want to continue to explore several markets with the NBA and will continue to play exhibition games with NBA teams but regarding having official games with them, I don't see the conditions to do so in a short or medium term of time."

On the qualification round: "The qualification round will be eliminated from the next season. We don't see any kind of advantage in that system and we'll move on from it"

On the new FIBA window: "The only disagreement that we have with FIBA right now it's about the new calendar. The The clubs are against this new window of @FIBA games because disturb their programs. This new window also is against an agreement that we signed years ago with FIBA that reserved to the clubs only the competions from the first two weeks of September to the last two weeks of June. Right now we have to sit with them and talk about the best solution for both of us".

On the possible introduction of a salary cap: "A salary cap in Europe it's very difficult because we have different taxation rules in every country. From the next year we will start to apply financial fair play rules in our system. One of the rules that'll be introduced is to have a proportion of the budget that can't be used on the players salary"
