FC Barcelona made history with their first game on the Euroleague Asia Tour and defeated Zhejiang Lions 83-91 in Hangzhou, China on Tuesday. Justin Doellman led the winners with 15 points. Maciej Lampe added 12, former Euroleague MVP Juan Carlos Navarro had 11 while DeShaun Thomas got 10 for Barcelona. Elijah Holman led Zhejiang with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Su Ruoyu added 15 points for the hosts. Barcelona overcame an early deficit to get a 26-27 edge after 10 minutes, boosting its margin to 46-54 at halftime behind a good effort - as many as 11 players had scored before the break. Holman kept the Lions within 64-72 after 30 minutes but Doellman and back-to-back three-pointers by Navarro allowed Barcelona to seal the outcome, 69-87, long before the final buzzer. Barcelona will now travel to Taipei, Taiwan, where it will face a SBL All-Stars on Saturday, October 11.
