Euroleague, Round 10: Sportando Team of the Week

Malcolm Delaney is the MVP

EuroLeague

MVP - Malcolm Delaney (Bayern Munich)

In the big comeback win against Real Madrid (85-83) Delaney is as always unstoppable in the open court and does an outstanding job in getting to the basket, making defense collapse on him and kicking the ball out to his teammates for an open shot. He sinks crucial shots during the comeback and, what's more, he plays excellent defense on Rodriguez and Llull, also despite some foul trouble in the last minutes. He finishes with 20 PTS, 6 AST, 9 FD and 24 EV.

Carlos Arroyo (Galatasaray)

Arroyo still has some struggle on the defensive end, but plays a strong game in the clutch in order to grab the win in Krasnodar (67-66): he scores 7 points in the last 3.30 minutes, including the pivotal layup with 17 seconds on the clock which gives to his team the final lead. He finishes with 14 PTS, 4 AST, no turnover, 4 FD and 17 EV.

Tyrese Rice (Maccabi Tel Aviv)

At his best when plays off the ball and can hide his questionable decision making, Rice is an impressive scorer. Against Zalgiris Kaunas (77-67) he's able to score with ease attacking the rim, and hits his only three with 2.50 on the clock, when the opponents are able to cut the lead down to 6. He also plays good defense and is able to limit Dentmon, staying focused and not being over-aggressive. He has 19 PTS, 6 AST and 17 EV.

Nemanja Bjelica (Fenerbahçe)

Bjelica's defensive and rebounding effort have a key role in the fourth quarter, when Fenerbahçe comes back from a 9-point deficit to win at home against Unicaja Malaga (69-67). The Serbian steps up also on the offensive end: with his team still down by 5 he ties the game with a three and an assist to Zoric off the dribble in back-to-back possessions, and with a strong drive he sets a pivotal 4-point lead with 2.30 on the clock. He has 13 PTS, 9 RBS and 18 EV.

Tibor Pleiss (Laboral Kutxa)

An impressive loosing effort by the German big man. In the home loss against EA7 Milan (65-83) his presence in the paint is unmatchable: he's able to costantly get the ball in the paint and can shoot with ease over the defender, while his nose for the ball and perfect timing allow him to contest every rebound and to intimidate in the paint. He finishes with 30 PTS shooting 10/14 from the field and 10/13 from the free throw line, 13 RBS, 2 BLK, 10 FD and 43 EV in less than 30 minutes on the court.
