The countdown to the 2014 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four celebrated a series of highlights on Thursday in the host city of Milan as the official logo was unveiled, the site of the Fan Zone was revealed and a global fashion icon from the city became a partner in the event.

A press conference to announce the exciting new developments was held at Mediolanum Forum, where the Final Four will be played from May 16 to 18, prior to Thursday's meeting between local favorite EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Panathinaikos Athens in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Game of the Week.

The first order of business was a video presentation of the new Final Four logo, which was especially prepared for the event by Designers United and will be seen throughout the city and beyond from now through the crowning of a Euroleague champion in Milan on May 18.

"Milan is globally recognized as the capital of design, the city of fashion, but Milan is much more than that," Jordi Bertomeu, the President and CEO of Euroleague Basketball, said. "It is also a capital of basketball, with a strongly-rooted tradition and really passionate fans. The combination of these two factors inspired Designers United, a multi-award winning firm, to build a powerful brand for one of Europe's most important sports events, the 2014 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four."

Following the logo's unveiling, Ms. Chiara Bisconti of Comune di Milano announced the news that the popular Final Four Fan Zone will take place in the emblematic Piazza Duomo, bringing the excitement of the event to the city center for the entire weekend. Piazza Duomo follows in the footsteps of recent Fan Zone sites like Taksim Square in Istanbul and Trafalgar Square in London to make sure that the entire host city can enjoy basketball throughout the three days of the Final Four.

Ms. Bisconti gave a partial list of the activities that will be open to the public at the Fan Zone, including the Legends Exhibition Game, several activities with One Team partners such as Special Olympics, a slam dunk contest, 3-on-3 tournaments, cheerleader performances and a three-point shooting contest, amongst others.

"A buzz starts that will be felt around the city and will get stronger throughout the next months. It will be such an important event, not only in terms of sports but with everything that goes around it. We are especially happy to bring this event close to the city center, offering the Piazza del Duomo to build a Fan Zone full of activities," Ms. Bisconti said.

Last but not least, Mr. Bertomeu and Mr. Livio Proli, General Manager of Giorgio Armani S.P.A. broke the news that one of Milan's most recognizable brands, the world-renowned fashion and design house EA7 Emporio Armani, has become a Final Four partner, with plans to enhance the visitors experience both at the Mediolanum Forum and Fan Zone throughout the entire weekend.

The press conference closed with a reminder that ticket sales for the 2014 Turkish Airlines Final Four in Milan will be launched at 12 noon local time next Wednesday, March 5. More information on ticket availability may be found at http://f4tickets.com/

"I would like to encourage all Italian fans to not miss this opportunity to witness the best basketball on the continent," Mr. Bertomeu said.
