Euroleague Game 9: Sportando Team of the Week

Darjus Lavrinovic is the MVP

EuroLeague

MVP - Darjus Lavrinovic (Budivelnyk Kyiv)
In the home win against JSF Nanterre (97-87), Lavrinovic is unstoppable on both ends of the floor: he scores with ease both in the paint and from three point range, hitting a couple of pivotal shots when Nanterre tries to make a comeback. On defense he does a good job on pick and roll plays, being also a huge presence in help defense thanks to his quick feet. He has 29 PTS on an impressive 9/10 from the field and 4/5 from three point range, adding 10 RBS, 4 AST, 3 BLK, 6 FD and a total 44 EV.

Bogdan Bogdanovic (Partizan Belgrade)
The Serbian guard has another huge game in the big road win in Istanbul (79-77), which could very well send Partizan to the Top 16. Playing once again mainly at the point, he holds his own even when double-teamed and shows as usual great passing ability. More important, he plays hard on defense even with three fouls on him and sinks a lot of big shots, including the ridiculous long three at the begin of the fourth quarter that gives to Partizan the pivotal lead. He finishes with 19 PTS, 5 AST and 22 EV, shooting 5/7 from beyond the arc.

Vassilis Spanoulis (Olympiacos)
16 PTS, 12 FD, 24 EV. One more time, Spanoulis is clutch: with his team down by 11 after three quarters, he scores 9 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter, including the long three off a screen with 58 seconds remaining that gives to Olympiacos the lead. After the home win against Siena (78-73), Olympiacos is still unbeaten.

Tarence Kinsey (Partizan Belgrade)
Other than Bogdanovic's big threes, are Lauvergne's toughness and Kinsey's defense that give to Partizan the win against Fenerbahce. Kinsey defensive plays are highly important particularly in the fourth quarter, when the Serbian team holds the opponents to only 4 points in the first 8 minutes: the American swingman is everywhere, creating turnovers and contesting shots. And he also steps up on the offensive end, with 11 points in the first quarter (out of Partizan's 30) and 9 in the last one, including a huge three that gives to his team a 5-point lead and 4 free throws that ice the game in the last minute. He has 20 PTS, 5 STL, 3 BLK and 23 EV.

Nikola Mirotic (Real Madrid)
Not really an intense game the one against Strasbourg, which Real Madrid wins (79-66) to stay unbeaten. Anyway Mirotic puts on an offensive show by posting up, attacking off the dribble, shooting from deep and driving hard off the pick and roll: he's unguardable, finishing with 22 PTS, 6 RBS, 9 FD and 35 EV in less than 27 minutes on the court, shooting 4/5 from the field and 12/15 from the free throw line.
