Playoffs Game 3 bwin MVP: Jamon Lucas of Anadolu Efes Istanbul

Jamon Lucas put together a brilliant performance on Wednesday in Istanbul to lead Anadolu Efes to an 83-72 victory over reigning Euroleague champion Olympiacos Piraeus to earn Playoffs Game 3 MVP honors. Lucas flirted with a triple-double in compiling a performance index rating of 24, which was the best of all 84 players to take the floor in Game 3. Lucas made an impact at both ends of the floor en route to 13 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals. Second on the list of Playoffs Game 3 top performers is Barcelona Regal center Ante Tomic, who amassed 12 points on perfect shooting, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block for an index rating of 23 in a 65-63 loss at Panathinaikos Athens. Olympiacos big man Kyle Hines was third on the weekly list with a 21 index. He had 12 points and 6 boards in 22 points for the Reds. Rounding out the best of Game 3 are centers Semih Erden of Efes and Shawn James of Maccabi Electra. Erden posted 15 points and 9 rebounds for a 20 index. James finished his season with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks for an index of 19 in a 57-69 loss to Real Madrid. 

Individual highs: Thomas Heurtel of Caja Laboral Vitoria, 21 points


Thomas Heurtel of Caja Laboral was Playoffs Game 3’s No. 1 scorer with a 21-point effort – one off his career high – in a rout of CSKA Moscow. Scoring king Juan Carlos Navarro of Barcelona sits atop the charts for the 2013 playoffs with an average of 17 points per game. Three of the week’s best performers, Erden, Lucas and Tomic, tied for the lead in rebounds with 9 each. Tomic, who boasts an average of 9.3 rebounds in the playoffs, leads all players in the current stage. Final Four MVP Vassilis Spanoulis’s 8 assists against Efes were the most of any Game 3 player. Spanoulis is also averaging a league-best 8 assists in the playoffs. Lucas is joined by Maccabi’s Yogev Ohayon and Roko Ukic of Panathinaikos as the Game 3 steals leaders with 3 each. Lucas is the playoffs leader with 2.3 steals per game. James and Vitoria’s Maciej Lampe were the only players with multiple blocks in Game 3, each had 2. James’s 2.3 blocks per game lead the playoffs.
